Head of Bread Industry Owners Syndicate in Lebanon, Antoine Seif, confirmed that “with the decrease in the exchange rate of the dollar, the price of a bundle of bread will decrease.”

He said via a television interview, “We have a huge expenditure of diesel fuel, which is priced in dollars, and this greatly affects the price of the loaf.”

He added, “The studies carried out by the Ministry of Economy do not give a profit of more than 10 percent, and this affects small enterprises, and in its absence, large enterprises will not be able to cover the market need.”

It is noteworthy that the black market dollar recorded an additional decline today, as it ranged between 28950 Lebanese pounds for purchase and 28900 Lebanese pounds for sale.
