Maronite Patriarch, Cardinal Mar Bechara Boutros Al-Rahi, welcomed this Friday in Bkirki the United Nations Special Coordinator in Lebanon, Joanna Wronecka, who expressed the importance of meetings with “His Beatitude the Patriarch and listening to his directives.”
“We tackled the activities that are being conducted in Lebanon, especially in terms of political dialogue and meetings with parties, with the aim of identifying the reality of developments and supporting Lebanon to launch the reform process, and to encourage the government’s work and efforts at the present time,” she said.
“Currently, I am focusing on these tasks, especially with the approaching session of the Security Council to consult on Lebanon on November 29. His Beatitude was briefed on our program at home as well, as we will meet next Monday with the ambassadors accredited to Lebanon at the Ministry of Interior to talk about the upcoming parliamentary elections and the means to support Lebanon in this context,” Wronecka went on.
