The United Nations Special Coordinator in Lebanon, Joanna Wronecka, wrote in a post on her account on the “X” platform: “The killing of Issam Abdullah, the photojournalist at Reuters, and the injury of other journalists is extremely sad and should serve as a stark warning about the risks of armed conflict, which the media tries to portray, despite the enormous personal risks faced by journalists.”
She added, “The cycle of violence along the Blue Line must stop immediately!”
Wronecka concluded, “Lebanon must be protected from the risks of a conflict it can do without.”
