An Iranian-French deal led to Mikati’s government birth

The government of Prime Minister Najib Mikati was born dark, and if it was announced under the lights of the Republican Palace, it carried with it “hidden poles” that began to unfold… The biographies that appeared on the television regarding the testimonies of the portfolio holders, cannot give the government the character of ministers of competence.

An informed source revealed to “Sawt Beirut International” the other side of these names, most of which are related to the current authority, especially those related to the portfolios that will have a significant impact on the economic situation and the continued erosion of what remains of the state’s capabilities, which will remain “possessed” by certain parties, depriving the state treasury of it.

The source believes that the process of maturation of the government came as a result of the Iranian-French communication aimed at achieving their own interests, which is said to have ended with a deal in which Iran would allow Total to contract a major oil contract in Iraq in return for French commitments, which its first manifestations may be Mikati’s government that was born “overnight,” despite the complications that appeared in the days preceding its birth and the mediations led by the Director General of Public Security, Major General Abbas Ibrahim, and then the son-in-law of the designated president.

In the end, the white smoke came out, but its survival cannot be guaranteed, as it might turn to gray as the ministers enter their offices, where they will take the files, some of which have been removed, with red lines and signatures that cannot be replaced.

Here, the source raises the question: Did France actually put pressure over forming the government in coordination with the US administration, or did it push towards this solution while the US was preoccupied with dealing with the repercussions of its withdrawal from Afghanistan?

Is this step in the interest of the Vienna negotiations, or does it give Iran a pressure card to raise against Joe Biden’s administration, noting that his foreign minister, Anthony Blinken, warned two days ago of the possibility of his country leaving the nuclear agreement?

The coming days will reveal the confidence of the countries concerned with helping Lebanon towards Mikati’s government and how it will deal with the economic situation and implement conditions of the International Monetary Fund, and this matter needs a miracle “that is not currently available.”
