Lebanon is celebrating its independence in the midst of the worst economic crisis in its history, as well as political crises and security chaos caused first and foremost by the Iranian militia Hezbollah, which is worse than the mandate itself. Now what independence are you commemorating?
The crisis that the Lebanese are facing today is unprecedented on all levels and without exception. Lebanon has entered a deep tunnel no one knows its ending, given the massive political corruption, suffocating economic crisis, and social disintegration. Unfortunately, the Lebanese decision today is being subjected to regional and international pressures, the first of which is the Iranian intervention.
We are all well-aware of the fact that since Lebanon’s independence granted 78 years ago, the Hezbollah militia has afflicted the country and has strained relations with Arab and Western countries.
Take genuine steps, the first of which is the abolition of the Iranian tumor.
Real independence is truly manifested when the country is the sole decision-maker and ruler, instead of being governed by external forces centered on the Iranian hegemony. Independence can only be achieved through Lebanese unity, the avoidance of sectarianism, and a revolution against the Hezbollah militia.
