A large landslide in a rural part of the northeastern Indian state of Manipur has killed at least seven people, with worries that another 55 may be murdered.

Rescue personnel retrieved 19 people from under the wreckage this morning after a landslide happened at a railway construction site, but the chances of finding further survivors remain bleak.

Millions of people have fled their homes in the area as a result of recent disastrous floods, and some low-lying districts have been submerged.
