After boycotting eggs, it’s bananas’ turn!

After the campaign to boycott the eggs last week was crowned with success, as the price of a carton dropped from forty thousand pounds to twenty-four thousand Lebanese pounds, citizens launched a new boycott campaign, this time for bananas, because the price of one kilo of banana exceeded the limit of six thousand pounds, according to what a citizen told Sawt Beirut International’s reporter, Ibrahim Fatfat: “We participated in the eggs campaign. And of course, we will be participating in the banana campaign as well. We are interested in participating in everything. The country and citizens are not able to tolerate such prices anymore. The situation has gone over a cliff edge.”

Owners of small stores and food stalls affirmed that they support the boycott campaign for goods, noting that they are aware of prices that are soaring insanely, while calling for boycotting many other products and goods as well.

The Lebanese are fed up with this suffocating crisis and can no longer deal with it.

“The state forgot the citizen and patients at hospitals, however, it never forgets to cut electricity on time, never late for a single moment”, a food seller affirmed.
