A supporter of Lebanon’s Speaker Nabih Berri barred on Wednesday Sara Chehade, a reporter working for Sawt Beirut International (SBI), from covering news in the industrial city of Al Ghaziyeh town.
Although Chehade allowed the man to speak freely and express his opinion, he verbally attacked her saying “we’re here with president Berri and we’re ready to sacrifice ourselves for him.”
“You’re not a welcomed broadcaster,” he said as he continued to follow her. “This south is for Nabih Berri and Mousa Al-Sader. It’s neither for you nor anyone else. It’s forbidden for anyone to speak against Nabih Berri.”
Chehade told him she was listening to the suffering of traders and industrial enterprises in the southern town of Al Ghaziyeh but he continued to scream calling on the SBI team to leave the area.
