More than a month and a half passed since the presidential vacancy.. Names were thrown around by the political factions..among which, now appears the name of the army commander, Joseph Aoun, who until now bears many signs in favor of him
The candidacy of General Joseph Aoun for the presidency of the Republic has become the title of quite a few meetings that take place in Lebanon and abroad, stemming from the dispute over the name of Suleiman Franjieh, and given the lack of fortunes of Michel Moawad.
Will the current army commander be a candidate to fill the Baabda vacuum?
It may be too early to say for sure about Aoun’s candidacy for the presidency.. especially since there are no serious announced and tangible stances, neither internally nor regionally-internationally so far.. However, this candidacy may encounter many obstacles, pitfalls and concessions!
Finally, will the “miracle” happen, which may gnaw even a hole in the wall of the presidential crisis, which is getting thicker on daily basis..?
