A French association has devised a satirical way to highlight the abuse of pets.

With the French presidential elections approaching, the association announced, on its Facebook page, the candidacy of a cat to run for the Elysee.

The topic, which started as a joke, quickly aroused the interest of the pioneers of social networking sites, until the number of signatories to this cat’s candidacy campaign exceeded the eight thousand and eight hundred people.
