Dollar insurance policies or hospital payment differentials?

The Association of Banks decided to postpone the entitlements of housing loans for an additional year for members of the army and other military and security agencies that signed housing protocols with Lebanese banks, without entailing any delay interest, burdens or additional commissions for the borrowers.

Also, the banks will not modify the life and housing insurance policies to include the extended period, in order to avoid burdening the borrower with additional burdens resulting from the extension of the insurance.

The insurance companies began pricing the new policies in dollars in cash, after the insured people incurred huge financial differences in hospitals equivalent to the total cost of their medical care due to hospitals pricing bills in dollars and not collecting the amounts owed to them by insurance companies at the market exchange rate.

To shed light on this issue, the president of the Association of Insurance Companies in Lebanon, Elie Nisnas, joined us.
