In a surprising move, the social networking site “Facebook” prevented the search feature for a member of the Development and Liberation bloc, MP “Ali Hassan Khalil”.
When searching for his name, a message appears from the site, topped by a question, “Are you sure that you want to continue the search?” An explanation of the reasons is added to the question, which states that “the expression or name you are looking for is sometimes associated with dangerous actions carried out by individuals and organizations, which is not allowed on Facebook”.
Al-Tigrini pointed out that the head of the Free Patriotic Movement, Gibran Bassil, and former Minister Youssef Fenianos are the most vulnerable to similar penalties.
In the context, Al-Tigrini revealed that Facebook is banning the accounts of some candidates as well
With this step, Khalil joins Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah, and party official Imad Mughniyeh, who was killed in Syria in 2008, on the Facebook ban list.
