It is no precedent that the words of Lebanese ministers against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, lead to a diplomatic crisis between Lebanon and the Gulf states. Prior to Information Minister George Kordahi’s speech, there was Foreign Minister Charbel Wehbe’s racist speech against Saudi Arabia via a a television episode on diplomatic relations, but this time the escalation’s levels are high. The Emirates did not request the departure of the Lebanese ambassador within 48 hours, but things so far do not bode well.
Saudi ambassador, Walid Al-Bukhari, who expressed his anger by saying , End of Story, left Lebanon and many countries asked the Lebanese ambassadors to leave their lands. The Lebanese imports were suspended, and the Lebanese communities were angry. They issued statements of condemnation and published campaigns in support of the countries that have embraced Lebanese for years.
The most worried of the tension in relations and its repercussions, are the newly immigrant youth, as they emigrated to escape the politicians who destroyed their dreams.
