Has Lebanon entered “septic attraction” stage after setting deliberations’ date?

Lebanon is prepared to begin the stage of parliamentary deliberations to designate the next prime minister next Thursday, despite acute economic and political difficulties, widening tensions between parties and forces, and a parliament that has lost its majority.

Will these dialogues allay Lebanese concerns about entering a constitutional vacuum? There are several stumbling blocks to the creation of a government, particularly by President Michel Aoun and the leader of the Free Patriotic Movement, Gebran Bassil. In the next days, there will be many shocks and developments. Is President Najib Mikati indeed the lone leader among the prime ministerial candidates?

Sources explained that there are several attempts to obstruct all constitutional tracks that might contribute to the détente of the current situation, pointing to the possibility of entering into a presidential vacuum, which would reinforce foreign interference in the internal affairs of Lebanon, as usual!
