“You need an amount of fist to fill it up.” This is how the Lebanese with low incomes express the high cost to cover the expenses of telecommunications and the Internet after raising the tariff.. The poor services provided make matters worse, either by interrupting the transmission of the cellular communication network, or by slowing down the Internet service and stopping it temporarily in several areas.
The goal of raising the tariff fivefold was to cover operating expenses and not to achieve profits, in order to ensure the continuity of the telecommunications sector and provide the best services.. But did it really provide the best services?
On the other hand, those concerned considered that these prices take into account the various segments of Lebanese society, especially those with limited income, but the truth is the opposite, as a large number of 1500 pensioners decided to dispense with the Internet and luxury services and return to the time of the “Missed Call”.
It seems that the mismanagement for which the mafias ruling our Lebanon bear responsibility… will return Lebanon “not only to hell, but to the worst of it”!
