Homes running out of water, while rivers flowing to the sea

A new crisis has emerged lately adding a new hurdle to the Lebanese who have been deprived from their most basic rights. Today, Lebanese are threatened with water outages as it has been cut off in several areas for two weeks.

UNICEF announced that most of the water pumps will gradually stop working due to diesel outages, and due to the inability to provide electricity and operate pumps and generators throughout the country in the coming days.

New demises threaten the Lebanese. If 4 million people are forced to resort to unsafe and expensive sources of water, then health will be endangered, and the community will experience a surge in diseases and epidemics, as well as a rise in the number of Covid-19 cases.

UNICEF is sounding the alarm, stating that ignoring this problem and not tackling it will bring Lebanon back to the stone ages. So will the sleeping consciences wake up, or will the homes of the Lebanese really suffer from water cuts?!
