How will wage-earners survive, until minimum wage is raised?

Prime Minister Najib Mikati has discussed, prior to the indicator committee’s meeting on Wednesday, with Minister of Labor Mustafa Bayram, Head of Economic Bodies Mohamed Choucair and President of the General Labor Union Bechara Asmar, the practical and temporary solutions to support workers and provide them with social security and stability, until a sustainable solution is reached, and raising the minimum wage, which may take a long time.

To shed light on this issue, the President of the General Labor Union, Bechara Asmar, joins us via phone.

Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El Molla, revealed that Egypt will send gas to Lebanon via Jordan and Syria early next year.

While waiting for the gas to reach Lebanon and the hours of electricity supply to increase, the owners of private generators has threatened to stop operating due to the unfair subscription prices set by the Ministry of Energy in Lebanese pounds, although the price of a ton of diesel is set by the Ministry in dollars, which It incurs financial losses.
