The Palestinian authorities confirmed that an Israeli soldier deliberately shot the veteran Al Jazeera reporter, Shireen Abu Akleh.

The Palestinian Public Prosecutor, Akram al-Khatib, revealed the results of the investigation into the killing of Abu Aqleh, explaining that the bullet that penetrated her head had a diameter of 5.56 millimeters. Al-Khatib also indicated that it is armor-piercing.

The US State Department had demanded that Israel inform it of the results of the investigation into the killing of Abu Aqila.

For its part, Al Jazeera pointed out in a statement that it had decided to refer the file of Abu Aqila’s murder to the International Criminal Court’s prosecutor.
