Security is jeopardized because responsibility for minor infractions is lacking owing to the courts’ retreat. The security forces are having their most difficult days. Although the culprit of the theft was apprehended by coincidence, the processes involved are nearly ineffective. A conference was convened in the Court of Cassation between the judicial judges and five members of the Supreme Judicial Council.

The Supreme Judicial Council failed to persuade the justices to make any headway in raising their pay. The remuneration of a judge does not exceed two hundred dollars. On July 17th, the judges got their pay for the month of June. And in contravention of the law, tax was taken from the salary Contrary to popular belief, the judges’ wages were not based on the exchange rate of LBP 8,000 per dollar.

The government did not fulfill its pledge of help, nor did it make the contributions estimated to be worth $35 billion.
