Lebanese lawmakers make hilarious statements following UNESCO session

Sawt Beirut International (SBI) reporter, Rabih Shantaf, prepared a hilarious video of Lebanese lawmakers making statements following the parliamentary session that was held at Beirut’s UNESCO Palace on Friday.

The parliamentary session sought to discuss a letter sent by Lebanese President Michel Aoun with regards to the formation of a government. Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri adjourned the session until Saturday at 2:00 PM.

Asked about the reason for her participation in the session, MP Dima Jamali said “all for the eyes of the President”. Answering whether she will return to the United Arab Emirates to stay there or whether she intended to submit her resignation, she said: “I haven’t decided yet. I have so many options.”

As for MP Mohamad Raad, he said “I have toothache” when asked about where he will be heading on Saturday, in reference to today’s parliamentary session.

MP Mario Aoun, in turn, said his friends in the Future Movement will be “positive” during the session, while MP Ali Hassan Khalil said President Michel Aoun “has the right to do so” when asked about the latter’s refusal to take the advice of Speaker Berri and not to send his letter to the Parliament.
