Lebanon will plunge into darkness within one month, citizens at the mercy of generator owners

The digital billboard on Bechara El Khoury’s intersection doesn’t market anything, but rather announces that the country will be plunge into darkness again, without any signs of hope on the horizon.

The traffic lights are completely disrupted, therefore, documenting any security event has become impossible.

Private generators will stop roaring soon, and rationing hours are likely to increase as a result of the crazy increase in global oil prices which climbed from $800 to over $1,100.

The scene of Electricite du Liban is like the electric current. The Iraqi fuel which is supporting the sector will stop within one month, and the country’s fate is left to the private generators’ owners.
