Majdelyoun without electricity, and people are revolting

The residents of Majdelyoun town suffer from electricity cuts and generators rationing due to the lack of diesel fuel. In this context, the Majdaloun People’s Committee submitted a complaint to its mayor, Boutros Saliba, stressing that if their demands were not met, there would be an escalation.

“Today, we, as a group of Majdelyoun residents, formed a delegation and went to the mayor of Majdelyoun to tell him that we can no longer bear. Our problem is not the inability of generator owners to secure diesel,” according to what one of the residents told “Sawt Beirut International” reporter Sarah Shehadeh, adding: The state receives diesel, even in small quantities, and each generator has a share of fuel, so why don’t the generators operate”.

Mayor of Majdelyoun Boutros Saliba said, “The population of Majdelyoun town exceeds 4,000. We have more than 8,000 housing units. The owner of the generators in Majdelyoun needs 5,000 liters of diesel daily, and we cannot secure a thousand liters. citizens are suffering a lot, and we as a municipality have limited capacity.” He stressed, “We will reach an explosion that we do not know when, not only in Majdelyoun, but in all of Lebanon.”

The crisis department in Sidon and its vicinity is expanding to include electricity, water, the internet and all daily life services. So what are the officials waiting for before returning to the Stone Age?
