Mikati’s visit to Vatican frustrates the Lebanese

At a time when Lebanon is suffering from a crippling economic crisis in which the back market dollar crosses the 25,000 Lebanese pounds  limit, a can of fuel the 300,000 LBP limits, and a bottle of milk has surpassed 300,000 LBP, Prime Minister Najib Mikati headed a delegation constituting of around 50 individuals to the Vatican.

But does one of the world’s wealthiest individuals, who comes from the Mediterranean’s poorest city, know Tripoli, where the expense of this trip could sustain hundreds of Tripolitan families?

Certainly, we do not intervene in Prime Minister Mikati’s personal issues, but the miserable Lebanese situation may astound international leaders when more than the state’s capacities are used in the quest for a solution.
