“Nasrallah’s threat is hollow,” says Elias Zoghbi

The Secretary-General of “Hezbollah” Hassan Nasrallah chose the timing of his televised appearance to be identical to the moment of his famous declaration: “Look at it burning and it will sink,” in reference to the targeting of the Israeli battleship “Sa’ar 5” at the beginning of the July war… Under the roof of this timing and its encrypted military connotations, Nasrallah’s messages gradually confronted the “new phase” and the “great and dangerous field development” represented by Israel’s bringing in the Greek production ship to start extracting oil and gas from the “Karesh” field.

As soon as Nasrallah finished his televised speech, Israel quickly accepted the challenge and sent its fighters to fly at medium altitude in Lebanese airspace to the capital, Beirut, while Israeli Finance Minister Avigdor Lieberman responded to the threats of the Secretary-General of “Hezbollah”, saying: “No one will dictate to us whether we extract gas from our waters or not. Israel will continue to make decisions based on its interests only without considering any threats.”
