Sawt Beirut International (SBI) reporter Rabih Shantaf conveyed the image from Mohammad Taan’s farm in Choueifat, to find out the price of sheep, and how much did it surge few days before Eid al-Adha.
One of the farm owners confirmed that “by Sharia, the sheep bought for Eid Al-Adha must weigh more than 40 kilograms, and should be in good health.”
He said that the price of a 40 kilograms sheep hovers around 3.5 million LBP, and the slaughtering cost ranges between 50,000 and 75,000 LBP.
The farm owner said that contrary to their expectations demand on sheep is high this year, and added: “We thank God that there is a great demand this year. Expatriates are transferring money from abroad to purchase sheep for sacrifice.”
