Once again, the orange Tayyar proves that it is the most successful one in spreading incorrect propositions and arguments. The last example of which, is the press interview given by its president, Gebran Bassil, to a Lebanese newspaper, as he attacked the entire political-institutional structure that exists in the country, starting with the Speaker of Parliament, to the Prime Minister, to the Commander of the Army, the Governor of the Banque du Liban, and the President of the Supreme Judicial Council. If Bassil and his Tayyar were in the opposition, we would have understood his point of view. As for him being part of the regime, and saying what he said, this calls for wonder and astonishment, and even for ridicule.
Who do you think signed the decree assigning Mikati? Wasn’t it the President of the Republic, the founder of the Free Patriotic Movement? Wasn’t Aoun satisfied then with this assignment? And, Isn’t the President of the Republic the one who appointed the commander of the army, and the head of the Supreme Judicial Council, with the approval of the Free Patriotic Movement? Who also agreed to extending Riad Salameh’s term? Is not the President of the Republic with the Free Patriotic Movement? So why evade responsibility in this way? And does Gebran Bassil suffer from schizophrenia? There is a second dangrous matter that Bassil has talked about related to regime change. He stressed that those who think that elections will bring about change, , will be frustrated, because actual change takes place by amending the constitution to change the regime. Is Bassil aware of the seriousness of his stance? Does he know that what he announces is only for the interest of Hezbollah? The party wants before anything else to change the Taif, because it has the power that qualifies it to impose its conditions on the table. Is this what the dear son-in-law wants? That all the Lebanese components succumb to the wishes and dictates of Hezbollah? No, Mr. Bassil, the people in Lebanon do not want to change the regime. Rather, they want to change the corrupt class, that has struck the regime from within, disrupted and distorted it. The people will hold this corrupt class accountable in the upcoming elections, and it is not excluded that your seat in Batroun, could be the price… so beware.
