SBI news bulletin introduction: Michel Aoun and Gebran Bassil are the two biggest losers

Long live justice, long live indecency! No decision of the Constitutional Council came better than a thousand decisions.

The highest judicial institution in Lebanon refused to enter, through some of its members, into the black political-judicial deal, which put things back in their true order, and spared Lebanon a huge bump that would have destroyed what remained of its credibility and reputation in the world. Two big losers from what happened: the covenant and Gibran Bassil. The Covenant, which tried to suggest yesterday that it is at an equal distance from all parties and that it is not interested in any deal that takes place, today showed its true face, declaring its disappointment with the decision of the Constitutional Council, describing it as a failure.

In parallel, the head of the Free Patriotic Movement received a severe blow that might reflect negatively on him in the upcoming elections. Gibran Bassil is the biggest loser of what happened. He lost a judicial appeal that would probably cost him his attorney general in the 3rd North District. That is because all polls confirm that Bassil is threatened to fall in the elections without the votes of the diaspora, so how about the diaspora who will vote against the covenant and the FPM, given that they are responsible for the state of affairs in Lebanon?

We are facing a new political stage, entitled: The beginning of the collapse of the covenant and the Free Patriotic Movement. What will Michel Aoun and Gibran Bassil do to avoid the major downfall? What will Hezbollah do in this case? Will he let his Christian bond fall like an autumn leaf? The stage is delicate, dangerous and open to all possibilities. The hope is that the parliamentary elections won’t be the victim!
