A new complicated scenario fabricated by the Free Patriotic Movement and implemented by the “courageous judge of the palace” Ghada Aoun to overthrow the Parliamentary elections. This movie comes after the failed attempts made by Gebran Bassil to amend the electoral law, pass an appeal before the Constitutional Council, and approve the megacentres.

The covenant and the Free Patriotic movement continue imposing their restrictions on banks, pursuing the chairmen of their boards of directors, preventing them from traveling, and seizing bank properties, among other measures. This is in addition to imposing restrictions on the Central Bank Governor Riad Salameh, and arresting his brother Raja yesterday, amid Judge Aoun’s directions to summon Salameh next Monday.

This is a smart scenario, and If Ghada Aoun’s practices succeed in blowing up the elections, this will remove the sword of loss from the Aounists. But if the elections take place, Bassil and his movement will play the role of the hero who saves depositors’ money and rights in an attempt to restore his shaky popularity.

Who will save the homeland from the repercussions of the conflict between Aoun and Salameh? Have the positions and chairs for the expected heir to the presidency become more important than the fate of the nation and the rights of its children?
