While country is at stake, Mr. President believes history ended in 2012

A nation haunted by the ghost of collapse, from its currency to its humiliated and hungry people, its president departs for Qatar at the invitation of its emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, to take part in the opening of the Arab Football Cup and to address the situation and crisis in Lebanon as soon as possible. The visit ended with a broadcast interview with the Qatari Al-Jazeera channel, in which he vaguely mentioned the extension of his rule and addressed Lebanon’s problem with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Yes, Mr. President, silence was hardly a sign of satisfaction. Rather, it has two meanings: either you avoided the answer, or you were perplexed and found yourself caught between a double-edged blade, accepting the truth or appeasing Hezbollah. It is a deplorable posture, unworthy of a president or the Lebanese people.

It is 2022, Mr. President, and perhaps the Lebanese people will acquit you of the obligation, because there are no Lebanese left who believe in your vow.
The present era’s accomplishments are only seen during the Aoun era. The most essential achievement that this age can achieve is to leave Baabda Palace when President Michel Aoun’s mandate expires.
