Following up on the positions on Lebanon’s signing of the agreement to extract gas from Egypt, US State Department spokesman Ned Price welcomed the fact that Egypt and Lebanon reached an agreement to provide gas to Lebanon to alleviate the energy crisis, stressing work to review the final contracts to ensure their compliance with US sanctions targeting the Syrian government.

He added that this is an important step towards regional cooperation to support the Lebanese people, stressing his aspiration to work with the World Bank to review the details.
