Welcome to Lebanon’s police state

Welcome to Lebanon’s police state: a headline capturing the entire situation that is unfolding today in more than one police station, as well as a claim against activists of the October 17 revolution, who were summoned for questioning in various regions.

While electricity is unavailable in most regions of Lebanon, and the Electricité du Liban has been entirely wrecked and collapsed, a number of revolutionaries gathered in front of the investigators at the Barbar Khazen barracks.

In a similar event, a number of revolutionaries were summoned for questioning in connection with their appointment to the Ministry of Social Affairs.

The revolutionaries were freed, but what is shocking is that the plaintiffs are affiliate with President Michel Aoun’s team and the Free Patriotic Movement. Did the movement forget how the Syrian-Lebanese security government treated them on August 7 in order to use the same tactic on the October 17 revolutionaries?
