Will loaf of bread prices rise?

The Lebanese citizen is accustomed to crises, coexisting with instability and successive living problems. As soon as the citizen gets used to a problem, a new crisis awaits him. Today, the discussion revolves around the loaf crisis. Are we facing the scene of queues in the bakeries again?

It seems that this crisis is fabricated, especially since the credits are still open and wheat arrives in Lebanon regularly, in addition to the fact that quantities of flour and wheat are available, and cover Lebanon’s need until the arrival of shipments from the World Bank loan, according to the words of the Minister of Economy, Amin Salam.

So, what reinforced the citizen’s suspicion is that some sources announced that wheat is available in the country for only two weeks, while “the problem lies in paying the price for it to the owners of the mills, and the delay from the Council of Ministers in paying the dues of the mills to subsidize the wheat.”
