Will farms and meat warehouses shutdown?

A new crisis awaits citizens, as they will be facing an additional rise in meat prices. This is because the Central Bank is withholding the suppliers’ dues, along with the crazy increase in fuel prices, and the cost of transportation, in addition to the high prices of meat and livestock globally.

To shed light on this subject the Head of the Syndicate of Meat Traders Joseph Haber joined us via phone.

The Association of Petroleum Importing companies (APIC) discussed the repercussions of the Ukraine-Russia war on the Lebanese market, as well as the difficulty of securing alternative sources for fuel imports from Russia and the Black Sea. They also discussed the matter of financing ships and ensuring continuity of supply for the Lebanese market.

Sources told Sawt Beirut International (SBI) that the members agreed during the meeting on the dire need to ensure the continuity of fuel supply to the Lebanese market, to avoid interruption of this vital commodity.

They also agreed that oil importing companies, the transport sector, stations and unions should stand in solidarity to overcome this stage with the least possible damages, and in a way that meets the citizens’ requirements.
