Will Lebanon witness a new fuel crisis?

After the insane increase in fuel prices in the past few days, car queues in front of gas stations returned during the weekend, while some stations raised their hoses awaiting the issuance of a new price schedule after the rise in global oil prices.

To shed light on this topic, the member of the Syndicate of Gas Station Owners, George Brax joined us.

The government, since its last session on Friday, has been following up the issue of food security as a result of halting exports from Russia and Ukraine.

Sources told Sawt Beirut International that a government decision will be issued to ban some exports. The decision included some major products such as grains, oil, and fodder. It is expected that a decision will be issued banning the export of wheat, until further notice.

Exports of citrus fruit as well as bananas and apples will continue because the existing quantities exceed the local market’s needs. These exports will also secure fresh dollars that farmers are in dire need for, in light of the difficulties the sector is facing.
