7 people killed and 13 injured in an emergency landing of Russian plane

Seven people were killed, and 13 others were injured when a twin-engine L-140 plane made an emergency landing in the Kemerovo Oblast, southwest Siberia, Russia, on Saturday

According to local reports, the plane was carrying 20 people in total.

The official TASS news agency quoted the Siberian Aviation Search and Rescue Center as saying that the stricken plane was carrying parachute jumpers, noting that the accident occurred after the plane took off from Tanay Airport, near the administrative border with Novosibirsk Province.

Prosecution confirmed that the plane had hit trees in a forest while making an emergency landing, after its crew informed air traffic controllers that one of its engines had failed.
