Afghanistan’s acting foreign minister says country needs international aid

Amir Khan Muttaqi, Taliban government’s acting foreign minister Kabul expressed appreciation to the countries that pledged humanitarian support to Afghanistan at a press conference in Kabul on Tuesday and said the Taliban will coordinate with them.

Addressing reporters, Muttaqi said they want to have good relations with the world’s countries, including the United States.

He said the Taliban do not want countries to pressure Afghanistan because pressure does not work and does not benefit Afghanistan or other countries.

Talking about the international recognition, the acting minister said they are in contact with UN representatives and regional countries.

“Negative reaction is rare and it is going forward,” said Muttaqi.
