The Gulf cooperation Council Secretary-General, Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, stated that the GCC and the EU are always working to ensure global security and stability through bilateral and regional discussions and collaboration.

Albudaiwi met with Josep Borrell, the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs, in Brussels.

Albudaiwi said that they discussed the GCC-European joint ministerial meeting, which will be held next October in Oman.

They also discussed ways to enhance and develop cooperation between the GCC and the EU in various fields, including the exemption of GCC citizens from the Schengen visa and the mechanism for accelerating strategies for resuming free trade negotiations between the two sides to serve common interests.

The GCC official highlighted the strategic and close relations between the Council and the EU and their keenness to strengthen them by exchanging expertise and continuous communication.
