Algeria plans to host meeting for Palestinian factions

Algerian President, Abdelmadjid Tebboune said on Monday that Algeria plans to host a meeting for Palestinian factions soon, and reported by Anadolu News Agency.
“We have decided to host a meeting for all Palestinian factions,” Tebboune said in statements following his talks with Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas in the capital, Algiers.
He, however, did not specify a date for the planned meeting.
The Algerian leader also said his country will grant $100 million to Palestine and 300 scholarships for Palestinian students.
A political and geographical division has prevailed in the Palestinian territories since 2007, since resistance group, Hamas, won legislative elections a year earlier.
Abbas’s Fatah movement has since ruled the West Bank, while Hamas took control of the Gaza Strip. Many efforts have failed to end the rift between the two rival movements.
