AstraZeneca vaccine booster shot effective against Omicron: Oxford lab study

A three-dose course of AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 vaccination is effective against the omicron coronavirus variant, according to findings from an Oxford University lab research, the pharmaceutical company announced on Thursday.

The study, which has yet to be published in a peer-reviewed medical publication, found that antibody levels against imicron after the booster shot were greater than antibodies in those who had been infected with COVID-19 and recovered spontaneously.

The business said that after three doses of the vaccine, neutralizing levels against omicron were comparable to those against the virus’s delta version after two doses.

The Anglo-Swedish pharmaceutical company stated that the researchers at Oxford University who conducted the study were separate from those who worked on the vaccine, Vaxzevria, with AstraZeneca.
