At least 12 people taken to hospital following shooting in downtown Austin

At least 12 people were wounded after a shooting in Austin, Texas, CNN quoted U.S. officials as saying.

Early Saturday morning, Austin-Travis County EMS wrote on Twitter that at least 2 of the victims were transported to a hospital with critical, life-threatening injuries.

According to ATCEMS, two other victims suffered non-life-threatening wounds, and the conditions of the other victims are currently unknown.

In a Twitter post, the Austin Police Department called on people to stay away from the 6th Street downtown area.
