Residents and a shopping district in Kyiv’s Podil district were shelled late Sunday, killing at least four people, according to city authorities.
“According to what we know right now, several homes and one of the shopping centers [were hit],” city mayor Vitali Klitschko said on his Telegram channel.
He stated that rescue teams were putting out a large fire at the shopping center, but that further details were pending confirmation. According to the Kyiv department of the state emergency service, four people were killed.
Reuters was not immediately able to verify the reports on the ground.
