The prime ministers of Canada, Australia, and New Zealand expressed their support for immediate international efforts to bring about a long-lasting truce in Gaza in a joint statement on Tuesday.
“The shrinking area of safety in Gaza for people worries us. All Palestinian citizens’ ongoing suffering cannot be the price of defeating Hamas, the statement read.
They stressed that a truce could not be unilateral and that Hamas had to free all of its hostages and quit using Palestinian civilians as human shields.
