Israel’s Prime Minister Naftali Bennett has vowed to bring back from Gaza two missing Israeli civilians as well as the remains of two soldiers who were killed during the Israeli offensive on the Palestinian coastal enclave in 2014. The four have been reportedly held by Hamas in Gaza since 2014.
According to an official statement issued by Bennett’s office, the prime minister is “personally committed to bringing home the soldiers and the civilians who are in the Gaza Strip and that his door is open to them,” The Times of Israel reported.
Bennett had met with the family of Oron Shaul, whose body is being held by Hamas, along with the body of Hadar Goldin. The two Israeli citizens also held in Gaza are Avera Mengistu and Hisham Al-Sayed.
