US Secretary of State Antony Blinken began talks with his Turkish counterpart in Ankara on Monday, after a tour in the Middle East that focused on the Israeli war in Gaza.

Blinken’s visit, the first since Israel’s war on Gaza in response to Hamas’ attack on October 7, does not include a meeting with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who is on a trip to northeastern Turkey.
