Brexit: French Agriculture Minister says no progress in fishing talks with UK

On Friday, French Agriculture Minister Julien Denormandie told France 2 TV that talks between France and the UK over post-Brexit fishing licenses had made no progress, and that France could consider sanctions against the UK.

Following the United Kingdom’s decision to exit the European Union, Britain and France have been at odds on how to handle fishing licenses.

In a fast worsening fight over post-Brexit fishing rights, Britain protested France’s detention of a British boat in French waters on Thursday and urged Paris against further retribution.
