Britain announced fresh aviation restrictions on Wednesday, giving it the authority to detain any Russian aircraft and prohibiting the supply of aviation and space-related goods to Russia.

Britain will also tighten its restrictions on Russian aircraft, making it illegal for any to fly or land in the country.

“Any aircraft owned, operated, or chartered by anyone linked with Russia or designated individuals or entities will be prohibited, and any aircraft owned by persons affiliated with Russia will be subject to detention,” the Foreign Office said in a statement.
