Four security and political sources told Reuters that Burkina Faso President Roch Kabore had resigned.

Kabore has not been seen in public since Sunday, when heavy shooting erupted at military installations. The African Union and the West African regional organization ECOWAS have condemned an attempted coup in Burkina Faso.
