China reports 33 new COVID-19 cases in mainland on June 7

China reported 33 new COVID-19 infections on the mainland for June 7, up from 19 infections a day earlier, a statement by the health authority read on Tuesday.

Of the new cases, nineteen were local transmissions from the southern province of Guangdong, according to the National Health Commission.

The country also registered 16 new asymptomatic infections, compared with 21 a day earlier. Beijing does not classify symptomless infections as confirmed cases.

By Monday, the country had a total of 91,300 confirmed cases. Its death toll stood unchanged at 4,636.
