The key bridge connecting the Russian mainland to the Crimean Peninsula reopened after a temporary suspension early Sunday, according to the bridge’s Russian-installed operator via the Telegram messaging app.
The government did not specify why the suspension was imposed. Russia seized the Crimean Peninsula from Ukraine in 2014, a move widely denounced as illegitimate by several Western states.
In recent months, the Crimean Bridge has been the subject of increased air and sea drone strikes.
