According to an EU official, a European Union-wide ban on Russian planes might be part of a new package of penalties on Moscow to be debated later on Sunday by the bloc’s foreign ministers.

According to the source, the great majority of EU member states have already blocked their airspace to these flights, and a more formal decision might be made soon.
